Rain Sticks are hand-carved with Good Luck Symbols and Petroglyphs from the Arizona Indian Rock Drawings. The Petroglyphs tell a simple, little story, using Medicine Men, Hunters or Dancers. The only "True North American Rain Stick" is made of wood, in the United States.. Woods that make a particular part of the country famous are only used in our Rain Sticks. With a great sound; (just like falling rain) each one is very relaxing to the soul. These rain sticks are also used to make sound effects and used as a percussion instruments. All Rain Sticks have good luck symbols that are sure to please everyone. The Cottonwood Tree  was always a welcome sight. They could be seen for many miles, sometimes almost a full days journey away. The Cottonwood Tree almost cried out "..here I am; I have food, water, and cool shade from the hot summer sun."  Sometimes the travelers would spend several days at the water hole resting and repairing their wagons. Lodgepole Pine Rain Sticks

From the area around the "Grand Canyon" in Arizona comes the Lodgepole Pine. The Indians used this scrubby little tree to make lodge poles for their teepees, spears and fire wood. Today the only commercial value is to make a few fence posts. This portion of the Arizona Desert is high enough in elevation to be a little cooler and made a nice place to spend the summer months. If you forgot to pick up one of these Lodgepole Pine Rain-Sticks while at the Grand Canyon now might be a good time to do it.

Redwood Rain Sticks

Redwoods only grow in 7 areas of the world. The Redwood used in these Rain-sticks is known as 2nd.Growth Redwood. That is wood that comes from Redwood Trees that were planted by the lumber companies some 70 years ago and are ready to harvest for lumber. The area around Yosemite National Park gives us some fine lumber. Redwood Trees are some of the tallest trees in the world, some are over 360 feet tall. Others are among the oldest, over 2000 years old and some of the largest trees with trunks over 30' feet in diameter. It is a good thing to save these trees for all to see and still use this beautiful wood from 2nd Growth trees.

 Antique Redwood Rain Sticks

As Redwood ages it loses it's soft reddish brown color and turns to shades of charcoal. That is what we have done with the Antique Redwood Rain-sticks. They still have all of the Petroglyphs and Good Luck Symbols but they are wrapped with a braided material and trimmed with either a Concho, fur or an Arrowhead

           Cactus Rain Sticks  ...imported from Chile

Some of the nicest Cactus Rain Sticks in this country. Our shipments keep one large family busy all year. Each Rain Stick is made from a cactus plant that has died a natural death. First the young ones go out and cut the thorns off and bundle them. Then Dear 'ole dad goes out and cuts the cactus down. From there they are cut into length, sanded, one end plugged and then they add Obsidian pebbles and plug the other end.
