Walking Sticks

...with style from Wilson's Trading Co.
The Walking Sticks, in our collection, are made from only two types of hand selected woods. Both Basswood and Redwood make excellent Walking Sticks. Both woods are light in weight, strong, and the quality is superb. All of our items have a story tag signed by the Cherokee or Navajo craftsman that decorated them.
Our uniquely designed Walking Sticks are all handmade. They have soft flowing natural curves that resemble tree branches. For the benefit of the environment; we only select wood from 2nd Growth trees. Which means that the wood used in our Walking Sticks comes from trees planted by the lumber companies to be cut for lumber 30 to 70 years in the future.
Most Walking Sticks on the market today are either heavy, clunky, or look like a broom handles and have no shape or design. Whichever Walking Stick you chose will be both very light (about 1 pound each) and strong. You may chose any of the unique designs for your Hiking Stick or Walking Stick.
All of the carvings on the Walking Stick are Good Luck Symbols. Hand-crafted Indian Art has re-created the World Famous Arizona Rock Drawings called Petroglyphs to decorate the Walking Stick of your choice. Each Walking Stick will have a series of symbols hand-carved into the Hiking Stick for a special kind of Good Luck.
For 1000's of years the only written language of the Native American was the Petroglyph. Normally the symbols were scratched on a rock along side the trail. Occasionally the symbols were painted, but not often. Although Petroglyphs have been found in most parts of the U.S., because it is a dead language, it is difficult to interpret them. The Glyphs are all slightly different just as your handwriting is different from mine., but not often. When you walk with one of our Hiking or Walking Stick, instead of a cane, everyone admires your "Walking Stick", rather than thinking that poor person needs a cane to walk with. A Hiking Stick will make going up or down stairs easier because of the longer reach. Your new Walking Stick will also make a great conversation piece.
Please Note: Average length on all of the sticks are 52" - to - 56" inches. After receiving your stick; the bottom can be trimmed to any desired length.
